TopOCR's Real-Time Document Camera Image Preview Dialog
The DocCam Image Preview Dialog lets you use your document camera as a high quality scanner.
You can launch this dialog by simply clicking on the top level DocCam menu item.
When you launch this dialog, you can use the "Esc" key as a "hotkey" to scan an image, or you can use the Dialog's Scan An Image button to scan an image.
Both methods can work with or without an optional capture time delay.
The capture delay makes it easier for you to use your hands to hold documents (particularly books) flat to reduce page curl.
This approach of using hand-flattened documents with a document camera can allow you to acquire and process images much faster than a flat-bed scanner!
The Document Camera Image Preview Dialog gives you the choice of scanning images into high quality black and white images for maximum readability or color for maximum scanning speed and for archiving as a multi-page PDF file.
TopOCR also has an optional "Super Resolution" function that automatically increases the resolution of scanned images. This is particularly useful for people with low vision who want a magnified high contrast image that's easier to read. You can also turn on the Auto-OCR function and automatically do the OCR after you scan each image.
