TopOCR's Web Engine

TopOCR is now equipped with a web interface. This allows TopOCR to be extended with new functions without downloading any new software. Instead, you simply click on any of the new links that are automatically added to the web interface.

In version 2.6 of TopOCR, the web interface is used to provide the Tutorial and Reference Guide. In the future, examples of the types of functions that can be added are translation, format conversion and uploading. There is also the possibility that TopOCR will have a Javascript API accessible through the web interface. This would allow anyone to script a completely custom OCR application with a small amount of Javascript code. Add HTML and CSS and you can write a complete application with your own "look and feel" in less than a day.
